About us
The Bunnings Pacific Cup Tournament was launched in 2019.
Original Participating Nations were Pacific Maori, Samoa, Niue & Cook Islands. Held over one Sunday, the first tournament saw Under 10 - 14 boys and girls grades, in addition to Open Men and Open Women.
Our founding committee for the inaugural Bunnings Pacific Cup consisted of: Riki Enosa, Pat Spellman, Harley Wall, Lucky Smythe, Wade Brunsdon, Jerome Mika, Karl Samupo & Jo Joe.
In 2022, after two years of Covid-19 forced cancellations - we were able to finally welcome the return of our tournament over two days at Gallaher Park in Manurewa.
In 2023 Bunnings Pacific Cup moved to Mountfort Park hosted by Manurewa Rugby Football Club. Over 3,000 attended the event and it was a huge success.
The Bunnings Pacific Cup Touch Tournament is dedicated to the memory of Josiah Mika, a passionate and proud young boy who lived life to the fullest.
We remember him every year by presenting the Spirt of Josiah Mika Hoe, awarded to a contingent that participates with the same love and spirit that Josiah did.
